Greg’s Story
Greg is a young man in his 30’s, he has struggled since a child, through high school and into adulthood with who he is. Greg never felt right or thought he fit the classic man stereotype even though he was born a male. These inner conflicts and the inability to find his place or a meaningful relationship with a man or woman drove him to desperation and self- destruction. Greg was Baker Acted several times and under court ordered care of Psychiatrists and Counselors who sincerely tried to help, but to no avail. The prescription drugs continued to cloud his mind and the counseling sessions and offered no solutions for Greg and he felt stuck in limbo.
In late 2017, Greg was introduced to the God Made Me Special message and he began to embrace the fact that there was nothing wrong with him. Greg came to know that he was exactly who he was supposed to be.
After a few months Greg made a difficult decision, as he stopped taking the prescriptions that had been keeping him unable think clearly and interact with those around him or participate in his life. He also decided to stop transitioning, preparing for the gender transforming surgeries he had been planning. Those around him said it was an amazing transformation. After several days, when the effects of the medication were out of his system, Greg began engaging with those around him. His dad and stepmother stopped fearing they would get a tirade of obscenities in response to “How are you today?”. Greg began wanting to help around the house, cleaning up, helping prepare meals and participate in conversations. The Greg his parents knew was in there, the loving, warm, smart and friendly young man was coming out of the drug induced coma. One morning Greg said to his stepmother, “I don’t have to be who I am not anymore.”
In 2017 Greg’s relationship with God continued to grow, as he has moved out of parents home and decided to move in with friends. Greg was working to get his life back. Greg knew and believed that God made him exactly who God wanted him to be. Greg knew he was not a mistake of genetics or an abomination to God. Through his relationship with God Greg realized that he is a creation of God, that God loves him and ready for the life and work God has planned for him to do.
